At installation, this card gets a little obstacles that lead to a minus value. The distance between the FM antenna jack too close to the tip of the iron plate, so that the FM antenna can not be plugged in properly. Also in my casing, causing the PCI slot cover can not be installed, because it collides with the FM antenna jack.
This is really very unfortunate, considering the Asus is a big company that has certainly there are many experienced engineers who designed the product, but did stupidity by making basic mistakes like this.
Installation is a breeze, plug this card into an empty PCI slot, then plug the cable from the tuner to the soundcard or motherboard (if soundcardnya onboard). Installation runs smoothly.
This card uses Philips SAA7133HL chipset, the resulting quality is pretty good. If you are using Cable TV, then the quality will be equivalent to a DVD because we monitor resolution higher than regular TV.
Another oddity is to catch the signal is not good. By using the same antenna with regular TV, some TV stations such as BBC, to black and white, if you want to get maximum results, change regionnya into Sri Lanka or Malta or other countries Pal B video signal formats, except for Indonesia. I'm using Sri Lanka and the signal was captured about the same as regular TV.
Bundle Software in the card is complete and useful. To watch TV, I prefer to use Power VCR remote provided because the Asus is designed to control the Power VCR from a distance. In addition, Power VCR also can mencapture favorite TV shows. After capturing power through a VCR, we can edit our videos using Power Director.
To listen to FM radio broadcasts, ASUS Ez VCR FM provides a less good. We can only store 6 stations and fine tune function is not available.
ASUS DVD XP is used for watching DVDs, and media shows, I have not tried.
There's also Asus Video Security to detect movement, but needed a camera.
Another feature that brought this card is TimeShifting, which allows the process of recording and playing street together. For example, when watching football, all of a sudden your friend calls, with time shifting, the tuner will start recording after you leave the tv and when you return, you just watch the continuation since you lived before, while the tuner was recording the event is in progress.
Remote is also convenient to use, to watch TV, just simply press the VCR, and VCR will power the road. Generally, the remote is almost the same as the TV remote. Remote can also function as a handy navigator.
Overall, the performance tuner Asus made it satisfactory, but with some trouble related to the signal, plus the card designs that are less good, it's the price around 75 usd is too expensive for this card.
Comment: Tuner ASUS is pretty classy and quality, it's just the price is quite expensive compared to tuner-tuner other similar facilities.
